FATHER CHRISTMAS
VISIT TO HIBERNIAN LODGE. CHILDREN ENTERTAINED LAST NIGHT. The Masterton Hibernian Lodge last night entertained a large number of children at a Christmas Tree Barty in St. Patrick’s Hall, many adults also being present. Father Christmas arrived in state and was warmly greeted by the children. After presenting each child with a handsome .present oil’ a well-laden and attractively decorated Christmas Tree, he handed gifts to the following: The Rev. Father Moore. Mesdames R. Cross. G. Marsh, J. C. Curry, W. McArlcy, Misses N. Moore. Joan Gleeson, Joyce Cross, Messrs Ray Cross (President), Gil. Marsh (vicepresident), Jim Curry (secretary), W. McArley and W. Brady. Lollies were distributed among the children and later the adults and children were entertained at supper. ' A kindly and much appreciated. act was the presentation by the Hibernian Lodge of a book by a well-known author to Father Christmas to mark the occasion of his visit, the names of all the officers being inscribed on the fly leaf. The arrangements for the entertainment of the children were complete in every detail, and if noise were any criterion then the children spent what was probably the most enjoyable time if their lives.
