MAYOR AND COUNCIL

EXCHANGE OF SEASONAL GREETINGS.

At the monthly meeting of the Masterton Borough Council held last night, the Mayor. Mr T. Jordan observed that the meeting was the last one in the year and said that on behalf of the council he wished to thank the staff for their services during the year and wished them the compliments of the season. In extending the season's greetings to councillors, he expressed the wish that one and all would have a happy Christmas and hoped that the New Year would see happiness, prosperity and peace. The Deputy-Mayor, Mr W. White, in replying on behalf of the council, sincerely thanked Mr Jordan for his good wishes, and extended the season’s greetings to Mrs Jordan. “Another year has passed under your able guidance—a year which I can say has been certainly a happy one,” added Mr White. “The council has come to the end of another year under your chairmanship, and I hope that it will see many more. The ratepayers and residents may rest assured that while you continue to occupy the chair their interests will be well looked after. They are being well served." Mr Jordan briefly returned thanks on his own and Mrs Jordan's behalf.
