SERVICES RECOGNISED

BOROUGH HEALTH INSPECTOR. At last night's meeting of the Masterton Borough Council reference was made by the Mayor, Mr T. Jordan, to the recent - honour bestowed on the Borough Health Inspector, Mr T. A. Russell, by the combined Masterton plumbers in the form of a social evening to mark his retirement from the position of instructor, after nineteen years’ service. “The community is fortunate in having such an excellent man,” commented Mr Jordan. “He has the reputation of being a health inspector second to none in New Zealand, and in the 19 years he has been connected with the council he has proved to be a thoroughly capable man. I am .especially pleased that this has been recognised by the men with whom he has been associated in connection with his work, and I am sorry that he is not able to be present tonight,” concluded’Mr Jordan.
