MASTERTON SALE

* LATE RATES MAINTAINED. A small yarding of fats and store sheep was offered at the Masterton stock sale today. The recent dry spell showed surprisingly little effect on the sheep, resulting in prices remaining on a par with late market rates. One farmer remarked that the recent thorough soaking received by the pastures had resulted in the grass coming away very quickly, which would keep the stock in good condition and make for the stabilisation of ruling prices in the near future. The Associated Auctioneers quote as follows: . - Fat wethers, 16s Bd, 17s lOd to 20s 6d; do ewes, 13s 6d. 15s. Store sheep, not quoted.
