Two matches in the pairs championship were played during the weekend when Rowles and O'Neale beat Anderson and J Higgison, and Fuge and Rolls beat Karaitana and W. E. Higgison A one-day tournament is to be played on Boxing Day. the entries foi which will close on Saturday. Personal Items. Miss W. Thynne, Auckland, is the guest of Mr and Mrs N. C. C. Shepherd for a few days. Miss M. Rolls, Hawarden, Canterbury, is spending a few days with hei father, Mr H. Rolls. Mrs Charles Elgar, has returned tc Fernside after a visit to Wellington. Miss N. Carlyon, Whakatane, is spending the holidays with her parents. Mr and Mrs C. J. Carlyon.
