LATE MR ROVDHOUSE
FUNERAL ON SATURDAY AFTERNOON. There was a very large attendance at the funeral of the late Mr W. F. Roydhouse, of Carterton, which took place on Saturday afternoon. Mourners were present from far.and near to pay their last respects to one who had lived a life of usefulness to fellow citizens and to the country generally. Before the cortege moved off from his late residence, a service was held by the Rev. W. F. Stent, Vicar of Carterton, who had also conducted the service ’at the graveside. The pall-bearers were Messrs D. L. Taverner, P. A. Cole, J. A. B. Lawrence, J. Steel, E. J. Brown (Masterton) and J. H. Kidd. Many telegrams, letters, and cards of sympathy were received from all over New Zealand, expressing sorrow at the passing of one of nature’s gentlemen.
