WAIRARAPA ASSOCIATION COMPETITIONS MASTERTON BEAT MARTINBOROUGH. CONTEST FOR GAWITH SHIELD. The Wairarapa Lawn Tennis Association's inter-club competitions were continued in fine weather on Saturday afternoon. The grass courts were in splendid order alter the recent rains. The standard of play in all the grades was high, several good wins being recorded. Particularly pleasing was Wairarapa College’s first win in the C grade. The Gawith Shield competition was advanced _ a further stage, Masterton again registering a clear-cut win. RESULTS AT A GLANCE. A Grade. Masterton beat Martinborough, 20/4.
