GIANT PLANES
PROPOSED FOR AMERICAN ARMY. By Tnl egraph—Press Association —Copyright. NEW YORK, December 16. The Washington, correspondent of the “New York Times” states that the army is seeking 4,000,000 dollars to build five bombers twice the size of the “Flying Fortresses.” It is understood that they will weigh 70,0001 b. loaded, compared with the Fortresses’ 388,000 lb. There are to bo four motors, each of 2000 horse-power, with a flying range of 5600 miles unloaded.
