CHRISTMAS MUSIC
MUNICIPAL BAND’S ITINERARY. NEW UNIFORM TROUSERS NEEDED The playing of Christmas carols was commenced by the Masterton Municipal Band yesterday morning in Church, Bannister and Dixon Streets. It is intended to play in the Worksop Road, Colombo Road and Herbert Street areas tonight, in the southern portion of the town tomorrow night and on Wednesday and Thursday evenings in the western and remaining portions of the town, while Lansdowne and the Masterton Hospital will be visited next Sunday.
It is pointed out that the work of the bandsmen on behalf of the town is purely voluntary. Two nights every week are devoted to practices and the band is open for engagement on other occasions. The band is badly in need of a new set of uniform trousers and citizens who wish to extend their Christmas goodwill to the band may do so in a practical way by assisting the band to secure the garments desired. The band extends to one and all its wishes that they may enjoy a Merry Christmas and a happy and cheerful New Year.
