CHURCH DECORATIONS

St. Matthew’s Church, Masterton, was tastefully decorated on Christmas Day and full choral services were held both morning and evening. The Rev. Mr Paige conducted the two services, being assisted in the evening by the Rev. Mr Baird, who preached an eloquent and seasonable sermon on "Humility.” Several carols and the anthem “Behold I bring you glad tidings” were tastefully rendered by the choir, which was considerable augmented. The Roman Catholic Church on Christmas Day looked very nice, considerable care and trouble having been

taken m the display ol floral decorations. There was a large attendance of worshippers at mass in the morning, and at the vespers at 7 p.m., when Dr. Watters preached a highly interesting and powerful sermon.
