COUNTY AFFAIRS

SOUTH WAIRARAPA COUNCIL MEETING AT CARTERTON YESTERDAY. FINANCIAL POSITION. ("Times-Age” Special.) At the monthly meeting of the South Wairarapa County Council held at Carterton yesterday, the treasurer reported that the receipts since the last meeting had totalled £1,210. There was a credit balance of £654 at the Bank of New Zealand and the loans account was reported to be £33 in credit. Accounts amounting to £19,010 were passed for payment. A deputation was received from the Carterton Borough Council in connection with the alterations, as a Centennial Memorial project, to the Carterton public swimming baths. The matter was held over till the next meeting. The next meeting of the council was fixed for January 26. The following dates were fixed for subsequent meetings: February 23, and March 23.
