The British United Press Bergen correspondent says the Finns have fallen back within two miles of the Norwegian border. A Kirkenaes message states that the Russians are rapidly approaching S<mijarvi, which the Finns are evacuating, falling back on defence lines further south. Five towns .are ablaze and a vast region is covered with black smoke. A violent Soviet offensive continues in North Finland, accompanied by continuous bombing of the nickel centres of Kolochoki and Salmijarvi.
