FEATHERSTON
CHRISTMAS PARTY (“Times-Age” Special.) The Christmas tree and party held in the Methodist Hall for scholars of the Methodist Sunday School and friends was a most successful gathering. Special prizes vvere awarded to six children who had not missed attending Sunday school during the year. Croquet Club Gathering. Owing to the rough weather there was only a fair attendance at the euchre party held by the Haunui Croquet Club. The prize winners were: Ladies, Mrs Leslie 1. Mrs Rewai 2; men, Mr D. Thurston 1, Mrs McGarvie 2. Personal. Norma Shepherd, who is dux of Wairarapa College this-year, has had a distinguished scholastic career. At the’ age of 14 she gained her matriculation at the Featherston District High School and was one of the youngest scholars in the Wairarapa to achieve that success. The following year she passed in matriculation Latin, a three-year course, which she achieved in one year.
