NEW WOOL SUBSTITUTE
ANNOUNCED IN JAPAN USE OF FIBROUS RESIDUE OF BLUBBER. SAID TO EQUAL GENUINE ARTICLE. By Telegraph—Press Association. —Copyright. (Received This Day, 10.50 a.m.) TOKIO, December 13. Another wool substitute is announced by Mr Yoshio Ishida, a director of the Chemical Research Bureau of the Riken Laboratories. After the oil has been expressed from the blubber of Antarctic whales, the fibrous residue can be processed into wool equalling the genuine article’s warmth and other qualities. Yue quantity, however, is not estimated.
