ADDINGTON SALE, AN EASING IN VALUES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, December 13. With one or two exceptions values showed an easing 'in all classes at the Addington market today. Fat lambs sold at export rates, -but fat sheep receded sharply for the lighter sorts to export parity. The best of the fat cattle just about maintained prices, but the bulk of the yarding was easier. All subsidiary sections were easier, except fat pigs, which maintained recent values.

The store sheep entry, which was not very attractive, was made up mostly of local offerings. Moderate lots of two-tooth ewes ranged from 19s to 21s 6d, and older sorts from 16s to 17s. The spring lamb entry of about 1000 head showed a progressive easing which, at the end, amounted to about Is 6d a head. The sale finished with values at about BJd a lb for prime, medium and lightweight sorts, and for heavy lambs at 7Jd a lb. Freezing works' buyers bought sparingly at up to Bjd alb for 361 b lambs. The quality in the fat sheep section was the poorest of the season, a big proportion being little better than stores. The market was the first since the export works opened, and values fell quickly for export ewes, which were down by about 3s on prices of last week. The export schedule rates are: Ewes, 3 l-8d a lb for up to 641 b; wethers. 5 l-8d a lb for up to 641 b. Prime heavy wethers made from 29s to 345; prime medium, from 24s 6d to 27s 6d; and ordinary, from 20s to 245. Prime heavy ewes made to 255. the tops to 28s lOd; ordinary, from 14s to 17s; and light, from 9s to 13s.

The quality in the fat cattle section was indifferent, and there was an easing of from 10s to 20s a head for all sorts except prime steers. The fat pig entry was smaller than normal and, though the sale began with a improvement, values eased finally to last week's parity. Prices for choppers were 10s a head better. Choppers brought £2 3s 6a to £6 Bs6d; light porkers, to 39s 6d; heavy, to 56s 6d; light baconers, £2 17s 6d to £3 7s 6d; heavy, to £4 6s 6d. The average price a lb for porkers was 6Jd to 7d and for baconers 6.'id to 6 : ;d.
