The Reich Trustee of Labour has had trouole over the payment of the 50 per cent addition to income tax imposed since lhe war began. In some cases German firms paid the additional tax for their higher employees and directors. This has now been forbidden, on the grounds that the tax was intended not only ’o finance the war. but also to enable each individual not at the front to express his thanks to the troops by reducing his standard of living.
