BOWLING

PARK CLUB RINKS. BOOTH AND SHIELD TEAMS. The following will represent the Park Club, in the Booth Cup competition against Greytown on Saturday. At Greytown:—Aydon, Frost, Fenton, Brownie (s); Allen, Burke, Wallace, Sheerer (s). Shield Team: O’Donnell, Smith, Staniforth, Simpson (s). At the Park: Ferguson, Osborne, Bell, Thompson (s); Leigh, Dixon, Brown, Gibson (s). CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES. Matches played during the week resulted as follows:—champion singles, Ferguson 23, Bell 12; Simpson 20, Smith 12. Champion pairs: Thompson, Shearer 24; Drummond, Carr 20; Roff, Bell 26, Leigh, Jenkins 21. BOROUGH VERSUS ENGINEERS. One of the periodical challenge matches between the Borough and Engineers was played on the Park green. The teams were: Borough, Braggins, Denbee, Simpson, Buckley; Engineers, H. Ewington. C. Ewington. Vincent Kilgour. The game resolved itself into the usual grim struggle that obtains when these rivals meet, and was continued until late in the evening. The players had difficulty in sighting kitty towards the close of the game, but an appeal against the light was not upheld. The engineers managed to drag the game out of the fire, but seeing that the trophy is held jointly by both teams the final result was not vital.
