RIFLE SHOOTING THE McLEOD SHIELD. (“Times-Age” Special.) The Featherston shooters journeyed to Greytown on Saturday afternoon to compete for the McLeod Shield. As Greytown could not muster a team, it was decided to hold the match at a later date. A practice shoot was held by those present, the scores being:—

Firebrigade Donations. The secretary of the Featherston Firebrigade acknowledges with thanks the receipt of donations of £1 from Mr W. Charles and 12s from Mr E. Perry, towards the funds of the brigade.

Euchre Party Dance. A very successful euchre party and dance was held in Kaiwaiwai hall on Saturday night. The music was supplied by Te Tail’s orchestra. The children of the primary department of Featherston District High School are to present a three-act comic operetta “The Princess Ju Ju” in the Town Hall tonight. Trucking of. Lambs. The atrocious weather conditions severely hampered trucking arrangements at the local station yesterday, several hundred lambs being held back until today. Drovers were seen until a late hour last night carefully sheperding their charges into holding paddocks. As the stock road was under water, the lambs were driven through the street.
