WOOL PRICES
HAWKE’S BAY STATEMENT 1 DENIED. COMPLETE AND CONTINUOUS GRADUATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A reply to a statement published in Hawke's Bay yesterday to the effect that no provision had been made in the type schedule for the appraisement of wool between AA and BB and that a grower could have an estimated probable loss of lid a lb was made last evening by the Minister of Marketing, Mr Nash. He said that this statement was quite incorrect. An A quality was included between AA and 88. “The type and price schedule provides for a complete and continuous range from extra super quality down to the lowest grade locks," said Mr Nash. “The prices range from 18jd down to 5?.d a lb, dropping in farthings. The appraiser inspects the wool and places it in its correct classification in the type schedule irrespective of any brand which may be on the bale. There is no loss to the vendor of any type of wool, as he receives a price which exactly represents .the relationship of his particular wool to all other types.”
