MEN FOR SERVICE
REGISTRATION IN BRITAIN. TOTAI, TO DATE ABOUT 075,000. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, December 9. A third big group of men —men between 19 and 23 years—-has been registered today for military service. Today’s registration is expected to bring some quarter of a million men, making a total, with the first two registrations, of about 675,000. The Ministry of Labour and National Service announces that provisional figures of men registering in the age group above indicated were 238.585. This included 4957 provisionally registered as claiming , exemption an grounds of conscientious objection, but did not include those who. because of the distance of their homes from local registration offices, would be registered by post, or seamen and fishermen.
