ANNUAL CONCERT OF MRS JEFFERIES PUPILS. (••Times-Age” Special. I There was a large attendance at the annual concert given by the pupils of Mrs Jeffries, and held in St Cuthbert's Schoolroom. The pupils acquitted themselves with credit, showing that they had been skilfully taught and were capable of intelligently interpreting that tuition. It was certainly a triumph for Mrs Jefferies, who was warmly congratulated on the success of the concert. The following was the programme:— "God Save the King"; duet. "Sonatina," Dora Prydc; trio, Edna, Mabie and Gordon Burton; solo, "The Cuckoo," Shirley Ives; song, "Be a Good Guide." Sybil Walton; solo. "Boat Song.” Beverly Hunter; solo, “Jolly Darkies." Mabie Burton;, duet, "Mazurka." Sybil Walton and Joy Hornblow; solo, two dances, Isla Pryde; solo. Richard Rogers; solo. "Scherzo." Margot Capes: solo. "Minuet” (Haydn). Ngaio Braddick; duet. "The Blue Danube." Gwen and Thyra Evans; solo. "Elfin Dance," Kathleen Ryan; play. "Regina and the Talking Clock” —Regina. Joy Hornblow; The Clock. Sybil Walton: solo, "Humoreske.” Joan Breen: solo. "Intermezzo," Robert Hornblow; recitation. "Counting Aloud.” Shirley Ives; solo. "By the Waters of Minnetonka,” Sybil Walton; solo, "Hungarian Dance” (Brahms), Kathleen Willis; solo. "Fairy Dance" (Grieg), Margaret Sutherland; solo. "Concert Valse,” Joy Hornblow; duet. "Gavotte." Sybil Walton and Joy Hornblow; solo, "Viennese Dance.” Grace Gallagher; duet, "Rigoletto,” Margot Capes and Grace Gallagher. CATHOLIC PRESBYTERY TO BE OPENED TOMORROW. The official opening of the new Catholic Presbytery will take place on Sunday at 2.30 p.m. Owing to the unavoidable absence of Archbishop O'Shea, the ceremony will be carried out by Monsignor McManus. Soldier Farewelled. Mr Norman Kendall, who has joined the Air Force and will go into training at Hobsonvillc, was tendered a farewell social al the residence of Mr D. Ryan. On behalf of the staff of Messrs D. Ryan and Sons, Mr H. Gyde presented Mr Kendall with a wristlet watch and wished him the best of luck. He referred to the excellent personal qualities of Mr Kendall, and expressed the hope that he would come safely through the war and return to Eketahuna where there would always be a warm welcome awaiting him. A very enjoyable time was spent by those present.
