RED CROSS SOCIETY EXAMINATION RESULTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The following are the results of the Red Cross Society's examinations held at Kahutara on Tuesday and conducted by Dr. Sharpe:—Mesdames J. C. Bidwill and Ness (honours): Grant, Duffy, Roff, Juno, Scadden, Misses Hamilton, M. Warrington, E. Warrington, V. M. Edwards, T/Scadden, O. Brocket. The 13 candidates examined all passed. FORCED LANDING PLANE SLIGHTLY DAMAGED. A forced landing was made by a military plane at Pukio yesterday. The plane was slightly damaged. Christmas Party. The Kahutara Women's Institute will hold a Christmas tree party for the children of the district on Wednesday night. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs Norris and daughter, of Wellington, are the guests of Mrs L. McKenna, Pihautea, for a few da y s - „ Mr J. W. Card and Miss Esma Card are visiting Woodville. Mr and Mrs Pottery are visiting Pihautea. Miss Hunter has returned to her home in Wellington after having spent a few days at Pihautea. The death occurred at the Greytown Hospital on Thursday of Mr Harold Tocker, a well-known settler of the Featherston district, in his 60th year. He is survived by a wife and family. Sympathy with County Chairman. Sympathy with its chairman, Mr A. B. Martin, in the bereavement he suffered recently in the death of his mother, Mrs W. J. Martin, was expressed by the Featherston County Council in a resolution passed at its meeting yesterday. Members stood in silence for a few moments as a mark of respect.
