CARTERTON SALE.
PIGS EASIER IN PRICE. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co Ltd report as follows:—A small yarding of sheep and cattle and a large yarding of pigs came forward at Carterton sale yesterday. Sheep and cattle sold well up to late rates, but pigs were slightly easier in price. The following are the realisations:— Sheep:—Fat b.f., to 25s 3d; f and f lambs, to 18s; 2-th wethers. 14s 9d. 15s to 16s. Cattle: Fat heifers. £4 17s, £5 4s to £6; t'at cows, £5, £5 Is, £6, to £7; forward cows. £3 10s. £3 16s. £4 3s. £4 10s to £4 12s; store cows, £2 6s to £2 18s; yearling Jersey heifers. £3 16s to £4 ss; potter bulls. £3 10s to £6 ss. Pigs: Weaners (good), 20s to 22s 6d; (medium), 16s Gd to 19s Gd; (small), Ils 6d to 16s; slips. 22s to 265; store pigs. 26s 6d to 29s Gd; light porkers. 30s to 335; porkers, 34s to £2 8s; baconers, £2 15s to £3 10s; p.b. Berk sows, £2 4s to £2 17s Gd; p.b. Berk boars, £2 10s to £3 15s.
