FEILDING SALE. PRICES GENERALLY FIRM. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, December 8. Very small entries were forward in all departments of the Feilding sale today, run cattle being the exception with quite a fair representation. Prices generally were firm to improved on those of last week. Fat sheep: Mutton was exceptionally scarce, this bringing about a slightly keener demand at prices a shade above those of the previous week. Prime heavy wethers made 22s 3d to 25s 3d, medium prime 18s 3d to 19s Gd, light 17s to 18s, first-grade ewes 19s Bd, second quality 15s to 16s 9d, unfinished 11s lOd to 14s sd, prime quality hoggets 21s 4d to 22s 3d, lighter 17s 4d to 19s; prime woolly hoggets 28s 3d; spring lambs 20s 7d to 22s Id. Store sheep: Though there was no material alteration in the prices for store sheep there was a certain amount of inquiry and vendors met the market. Best two-tooth ewes made 23s 7d to 24s Id, small 17s 7d; average twotooth wethers 16s 6d to 18s, smaller 12s lid to 16s; ewes and lambs 12s 4d to 17s. Store cattle: At the auction the demand for run stock was not particularly keen, but a considerable number were sold later by private treaty. Values generally were steady at last week’s rates. Fairly forward threeyear Hereford steers made £6 10s to £7 15s; fat and forward three-year A.A. steers £7 10s to £8 Bs, smaller £6 16s to £7 Is; two-year Hereford heifers £3 4s; two-year A.A. heifers £3 Is to £3 2s; yearling A.A. steers, good, £3 19s, others £2 2s; yearling A.A. heifers £1 10s to £2 4s; forward A.A. cows £4 5s to £5 ss; mixed yearling steers £1 17s Gd; cows and calves £3 Is to £3 7s Gd; yearling Jersey heifers £2 to £3 7s Gd; works cows, heavy £3 to £3 12s 6d, others £1 10s to £2 14s. Dairy cattle: With the regular demand for milkers now largely met, there was a quiet inquiry for dairy sorts, prices being definitely easier. Good springing heifers made £7 15s, others, £3 10s to £5; springing cows £2 12s 6d to £5; heifers in milk £4 2s 6d to £4 ss. Fat cattle: A firmer tone ruled in this department, values showing a slight rise on last week’s. Prime A.A. cows made £8 to £9 4s, second quality £7 7s 6d to £7 Ils: prime Hereford cows £8 17s 6d; ex-dairy sorts £4 to £5 10s; light prime heifers £7 5s to £7 17s Gd; light Jersey heifers, prime, £4 2s 6d to £4 10s.
Pigs: A firm market at good values was shown for pigs, the entry being shorter than that of the previous week. Good weaners made 14s to 17s; slips 17s 6d io £1 8s Gd: porkers £1 12s to £1 IGs Gd,
