HERD IMPROVEMENT
TESTING IN WAIRARAPA. i • FIGURES FOR NOVEMBER. The Wellington-Hawke’s Bay Herd Improvement Association reports having tested 33.926 cows in November and the average cow produced 8741 b milk of 4.5 average test, yielding 39.35 lb butterfat. The 33,926 cows were divided into 51 groups, the highest groups being the Waihakeke-Parkvale and South Featherston Groups which tied for first place with an average of 441bs of butterfat per cow. The highest herd in the Association was one of 13 cows which averaged 581 b fat and the highest cow in the Association produced 981 b butterfat for the 30-day period.
