MUSICAL RECITAL

BY PUPILS OF MRS MILLER HOPE. AN ENJOYABLE PROGRAMME. The large attendance of parents and friends at the recital given last night in the Y.M.C.A. Hall, Masterton, by the pupils of Mrs A. Miller Hope, L.R.S.M. (London) had placed before them an excellent programme of items which demonstrated that the pupils had been most skilfully taught and were able to reproduce that tuition in a manner that reflected the greatest credit upon their teacher as well as upon themselves. From the youngest to the most advanced pupil there was noticeable an excellent interpretation of the items rendered, the audience greatly appreciating the efforts of the pupils. The recital was one that Mrs Miller Hope has every reason to be proud of, while the parents have the satisfaction of knowing that their children are being conscientiously and skilfully taught. The pupils were assisted by Mr Dilnot Wales, who was in excellent voice, and sang “Nelson’s Gone A'Sailing”, “You'll Get Heaps o’ Liekins”, "The Tramp's Song", “Passing Bye.” The large percentage of boys playing the piano and spirited rendering of Sea Shanties, etc, by Hadlow School Boys’ Sextette were features, of the recital, practically every item being memorised.
