WEDDING

SMART—LARSEN. ’ A pretty wedding took place at th< ' Methodist Church, Masterton, yesterday, when Margaret Mary, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Larsen Mauriceville West, was married tc Alan David, fourth son of Mrs and the late Mr Smart, of Makuri. The officiating minister was the Rev F. J. Parker. The bride, who was escorted by hei father, wore a magnolia satin gowi with pleated bodice, heart shapec neckline and sleeves forming a poin over the hands, and trimmed with pearls. A lace train and flounce of laci adorned the skirt. A halo of orange blossom kept in place an embroiderer tulle veil, which was lent by her sister and fell to form a second train. Hei bouquet was of roses and carnations. The bride was attended by hei sisters, Misses Joyce (chief) and Jum Larsen, who were dressed alike ii frocks of powder blue net over satin with puffed sleeves and full skirt; trimmed with narrow satin ribbon They wore haloes of blue net anc flowers and carried bouquets of pint and blue flowers. | The bridegroom was supported b' his brother, Mr J. Smart, as best man and Mr Ivan Larsen as groomsman. As the bride left the church she wa; presented with a satin horse shoe bj > her small cousin, Ronnie Thomasen. | After the ceremony a reception wa; | held in the Masonic Hall. Mastertoi - The bride’s mother received the guest; wearing a navy frock with hat anc shoes to tone, and carried a bouque of pink flowers. She was assisted by the bridegroom's mother. Mrs Smart who was attired in a brown gown will hat and shoes to match. She carried ; bouquet of shaded flowers. The bouquets were made by Mrs Forsberg anc Miss R. Mortensen. When Mr and Mrs Smart left latei by car, the bride was wearing a navy frock with accessories to tone. A dance was later held in the Mauriceville West hall, there being about two hundred guests present. Mr I. Larsen was M.C., and Mr Jack West and Mr Ashworth supplied the music. A Monte Carlo waltz was won by Mr and Mrs Maysmith. A dainty supper was served and dancing resumed until a late hour. The singing of Auld Lang Syne brought a happy gathering to a close. Mrs Larsen, senr, grandmother of the bride, Mr and Mrs Dunean Morrison (Ngaturi), Miss Pedersen. Mrs Thomason (Woodville) and Mr G. Gregory. R.N.Z.A.F. (Weraroa), were among the I guests present
