BREAK FOR LIBERTY

GERMAN SAILORS LEAVE U.S.A. IN LAUNCH. STOPPED BY COASTGUARD. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. NEW YORK. December 6. A message from Wilmington (North Carolina) states that coastguards detained the yawl Lekola, manned by a German-speaking crew, for reasons which they declined to state. A Washington message states that officials disclose that the mystery of the Lekola, cabled last night, is nothing more sinister that that six homesick German sailors, former employees on an American oil tanker, wore attempting to make contact with and transfer to a German vessel or, failing that, to sail, directly to Germany. They may be permitted to continue if they post a bond undertaking to refrain from raiding activities.
