FUTILE RAIDS
ATTEMPTED BY GERMANS ON WEST FRONT. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. •LONDON. December 5. A French communique states that the enemy attempted a number of futile raids. There was patrol and artillery activity during the night on certain points of the front. According to the latest French communique German patrols have made many raids on the Western Front, a radio report, states. It docs not state where the raids occurred, but many have been made recently near Wissemburg. The persistence with these raids in spite of their failure shows that the Germans are desperately in need of information. MORE UNSUCCESSFUL EFFORTS. (Received This Dav. 10.45 a.m.) LONDON. December 6. Apparently attempting to verify the Allied battle order, the Germans carried out series of raids. All were repulsed and the Germans left a number of dead.
