DARK WAR CLOUDS
SEEN BY GERMAN PAPER IN ASIA MINOR. ANTICIPATION OF CONFLICT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. BERLIN. December 5. The "Voelischer Beobachter” states: “Berlin is paying much attention to dark war clouds which are gathering in Asia Minor simultaneously with the outbreak of the Russo-Finnish conflict. “Russia is reinforcing her troops on the Caucasian front in Middle Asia, while British concentrations in Egypt, French concentrations in Syria, and Turkish concentrations on the TurcoRussian border have been observed. "Turkey’s recent political switch might well lead to conflict, and this time, unlike the last war, Russia’s chances are extremely good. The whole of Asiatic politics might be rolled up if England intervened." RUMOURS EXTEND (Received This Day, 10.45 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, December 6. All the newspapers give prominence to "rumours in well-informed circles in Berlin," which followed the “Voelkischer Beobachter’s" prophecy claiming that Britain and France may soon be attacked on a new front.
