The secretary of the New South Wales Chamber of Manufacturers. Mr J. W. Hendry, said: "Australian manufacturers can supply materials for the New Zealand Government’s housing scheme." Mr Hendry was commenting on a statement by the New Zealand Minister of Housing (Mr Armstrong) that builders in New Zealand are having difficulty in obtaining materials. He added: “If the New Zealand Government adopts satisfactory financial arrangements. Australian manufacturers will supply her. They cannot do so under existing arrangements.”
