CURRENT TOPICS FROM STABLE AND COURSE Immediate Plans for Tatmmgi WILL COMPETE IN WELLINGTON CUP (BY “CARBINE.") The Waikato Cup winner, Taurangi, is being treated to a spell, after which she will undergo a preparation for the Manawatu Cup and will then go on to contest the Wellington Cup. The Beau Pere mare is to be nominated for the Marton Cup which is to be run on New Year's Day. It is probable that these will be the only races .which Taurangi will contest before the autumn meetings. Mr W. McA. Duncan purchased her' as a yearling for 525 guineas, and to date she has won £2460 in stakes.
To Contest Foal Stakes. Doria, the leading two-year-old in the South Island, is to be taken to Ellerslie, where she is to contest the Great Northern Foal Stakes. Enrich is .reported to be an unlikely starter for I 1 this event so that the chances of Doria adding to her record appear bright. Not to go to Ellerslie. It is reported that Submission has not done at all well lately and will be allowed to forego her Ellerslie engagements, at which meeting the stable will be represented by Homily, Entail and Ringcraft. The latter revealed much promise in his two races at Trentham. and is likely to be much harder to beat at his next start, which will be at Woodville. Manawatu Cup. The following are the entries for the Manawatu Cup, of £750. ljm:—Windsor Chief. Centrepoise, Hunting Cat, Colonel Bogey, Aurora’s Star, Anita Foe, The Buzzer, The Bigot, Scotland. Dainty Sue, Kena, Limbohm. Rarotonga, Wotan, Friesland. Du Maurier. Play On, Mataroa, Silvanus, Tidewaiter, Charade. Siegmund, Raeburn, Trebor, Galteemore. Lady Furst. Sovereign Lady in Good Form. As there are no races near at home for Sovereign Lady to contest, her owner has decided to send her to Dunedin. Sovereign Lady is particularly well at present and there should be at least one stake in the offing.
Liverpool Handicap. The Liverpool Handicap. For the Louisson Memorial Handicap, I.lm, to be run at the Manawatu Racing Club's meeting the following entries have been received: —Centrepoise. Hunting Cat. Colonel Bogey, Aurora’s Star. Anita Foe. The Buzzer The Bigot, Flying Acre. Cricket. Dainty Sue, Kena, Limbohm. Colfort. Rarotonga, Wotan. Friesland. Play On, Mataroa. Silvanus, Siegmund, Sudan, The Crooner, Old Surrey. Galteemore, Trebor, Boomerang. Blenheim’s Stock in Demand. At the American yearling sales at Saratoga, the stock of the English Derby winner, Blenheim, now known as Blenheim. 11. because of another sire of that name in America, was in great demand, seven colts realising £20.200 and five fillies £7,960. The top price was for a bay colt from the Man o’ War mare Argoste. who brought £4.000, and the highest priced filly, also a bay. and from a mare by Man o' War’s son, American Flag. changed hands for £ 2,400.
