.RIFLE SHOOTING WILLIAMS AND BIDWILL CUPS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Tl;e folowing were the scores in the Featherston Rifle Club’s competition for the Williams and Bidwill Cups:—

CROSSING SMASH DRIVER TAKEN TO HOSPITAL. At the Featherston railway crossing early yesterday morning a motor lorry containing vegetables and driven by Ling Sing, of Greytown, collided with a train with the result that the vehicle was wrecked and the driver received concussion as well as being cut about the face. He was taken by ambulance to the Greytown Hospital where he was reported today to be making a satisfactory recovery. WEDDING GREEN—JONES. A quiet'.wedding was celebrated in St Peter’s Church. Wellington, on Saturday afternoon, when Joyce Vivian. youngest daughter of the late Mr and Mrs C. E. Jones. Dunedin, was married to James Richard, only son of Mi' and Mrs O. J. Green, Wellington. The Ven Archdeacon Bullock officiated and Mr Shortt was the organist. The bride, who was escorted by her brother-in-law. Mr J. E. Willett, looked charming in a gown.of ivory touline and wore a beautiful veil of Brussells net. She carried a bouquet of carnations and roses. The bride was attended by her two little nieces. Joan and Mary Willett, who were attired in frocks of terra brick toulinc with touches of silver and wore silver bands on the hair. They carried muffs of the same material as their frocks. Mr Marshall, cousin of the bridegroom, acted as best man. A reception was held at the Mayfair Cabaret, where the hostess. Mrs J. E. Willetl. sister of the bride, received the guests wearing a cornflower blue ensemble, with a shoulder spray of cream roses and beige straw hat. The bride’s travelling costume was of brown material with brown accessories. Mr and Mrs Marshall later left for the north. Their future home will be in Wellington. Red Cross Society Articles. All the articles made for the local Red Cross Society are sent to the Dominion headquarters. Wellington, and are distributed from there.
