The Hon. F. Langstone, Minister of Lands, lelc Wellington today on a visit to his electorate. He expects to be away for eight days. A founder of the firm of Macky. Logan. Caldwell. Lid., Mr David Robert Caldwell, died .in Auckland last week, aged 84 years. Messrs Jenkinson and Marshall (Palmerston North), and Wakelin (Wellington) are guests at the Prince of Wales Hotel (Masterton). Mr W. Ward, of Masterton, has been appointed stock agent for the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co.. Ltd., in the E'ketahuna district. Hotel Midland (Maslerton) guests today are Messrs Grundy, Russell. Whittaker (Hastings), Stevens (Palmerston North), Darragh and Carey (Wellington). Mr G. K. Claris, of Makomako, has been appointed sole teacher of Matahiwi, and Mr T. Clarke, of Pahiatua, head teacher at the Miramar South School. Mr R. H. Nimmo has been appointed deputy-chairman of the National Patriotic Council and automatically becomes chairman of the standing committee. Today's guests at the Empire Hotel (Masterton) arc Messrs Abel (New Plymouth), Hills (Gisborne). Beck. Manderson (Palmerston North.). Howe, Williams. Hawker, Martin and Schlup (Wellington).
