GAMES IN VARIOUS CENTRES. Wellington: The heavy rain which fell on Thursday. Friday and Saturday, caused wickets and outfields to be so soft on Saturday afternoon that all cricket games had to be abandoned. As a result of the games in the fourth series of the Wellington Cricket Association's senior championship not being continued beyond the opening day, Kilbirnie are now at the head of the championship table; they were the only team to secure a lead on the first innings on the first day, and the five points they thus secure .place them one point ahead of Wellington College Old Boys, who drew with Hutt. The Institute v. University and Karori v. Midland matches were also left drawn. Dunedin: The senior cricket competition was resumed in fine weather on Saturday, but rain fell later, causing a stoppage for an hour. Dunedin, 129 (Holley 42; Lemin six for 44. Elmes three for 36), V; Grange, 35 for one wicket. Albion, 239 for eight (Duncan 69, Ditchfield 67; Leader three for 45), v Old Boys. Carisbrook A, 237 for eight (T. Fraser 90, Caradus not out 66; Begg four for 79), v. University. Carisbrook B, 266 for nine (F. Williams not out 90), v. Kaikorai. Christchurch; The fourth round of the Canterbury Cricket Association's competition was concluded in fine weather. The leading teams, Lancaster Park and Old Boys, were both beaten for the first time this season, but maintain their places at the head of the table. Points scored by the teams are a.s follows: —Lancaster Park 22, Old Boys 19, East Christchurch 16, Sydenham 14, West Christchurch 12, St. Albans 10. Old Collegians 7, Riccarton 4. Scores were: West Christchurch, 139 and 232 <Nee 79. Coltman 52, beat Lancaster Park, 127 and 85 for five, by 12 runs on the first innings. Sydenham, 156 and 75 for four (Wallburton 61 not out), beat Old Boys 142 (Anderson 55). by 14 runs on the first innings. East Christchurch, 207 (James 53). beat Riccarton, 192 and 96 for three (Stringer 59 not out), by 15 runs on the first innings. St. Albans, 195 (Batstone 95), beat Old Collegians, 162 and 73 for eight, by 33 runs on the first innings.
