GARDEN PARTY
CHURCH OF THE EPIPHANY. The annual garden party organised by the Ladies' Guild of the Church of Epiphany was held at the Sedgley Home grounds on Saturday afternoon. The weather was showery at times, but was made the best of by those present. The cake, sweets, produce and fancywork stalls were well stocked and all reported brisk business. The Masterton Municipal Band was in attendance and played a number of selections. However the Ladies' Guild have every reason to be satisfied with the party as it was an outstanding success. In a happy little speech. Mrs E. J. Rich declared the garden party open. The baby show was a great success. Mrs P. Harrison being the judge. Those to gain prizes were Jennette Murdoch. Ninette Te Bay. David Marsh and Kenneth Gyde. ’The men's committee was in charge of the amusement stalls and had a busy time. Afternoon tea was served in the schoolroom. The Ladies' Guild, under the direction of Mrs. Whitton, were congratulated on the success attained.
