COMFORTS FOR SOLDIERS

FLAG DAY IN MASTERTON. TO BE HELD ON FRIDAY. It has been decided that a provincial flag day be held throughout the Wellington Province on Friday, December 8 for the purpose of raising funds to provide Christmas cheer and comforts for the men in various military camps and service posts throughout the province. A strong ladies committee has been formed hi Masterton and it is proposed to make a house-to-house canvas on Friday next. The organisers wish it to bo known that the funds raised will not in any way be controlled by the Government, but will go to the Wellington provincial patriotic fund. The members of the local committee feel sure that the public of Masterton will respond in its usual generous manner to the appeal.
