CALVES AND LAMBS

GREYTOWN GROUP. RESULTS OF JUDGING. (“Times-Age” Special.) The judging of the calves and lambs in the Greytown Boys' and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs Group took place yesterday at Greytown. There was a large attendance of parents and also Messrs A. Donald (Education Board member for the district), H. Hesse and F. C. Brockett (agriculture instructors), and R. Tilson (president of the Wairarapa P. and A. Society). Mr W. Deller, of Carterton, was the judge. At the conclusion of the judging. Mr H. G. Carter, chairman of the school committee, expressed appreciation of the interest taken by the parents in the competition and also the care taken by the judge, Mr Deller, in making his awards. Mr Deller congratulated the children on the condition of the exhibits, and the manner in which the stock was handled. Mr Donald expressed his pleasure at being present and congratulated the I competitors on the quality of their stock. Mr Hesse impressed upon those present the necessity of breeding on right lines and of properly caring for young stock so as to assist in increasing production. The championship for the group in I calves was won for the second year in , successioti by Rae Humphries. The champion lamb was shown by Georgina Dickens, who also won the championship in the lamb class last year.
