MARTINBOROUGH
ATHLETIC CLUB ANNUAL MEETING OR MEMBERS. (“Times-Age" Special.) The annual meeting of the Martinborough Amateur Athletic Club was held last night in the Odd Fellows' Hall. Mr Alex. Morrison presided over a good attendance of members. Several apologies for absence were read. Before starting the ordinary business of the meeting the chairman made feeling reference to the late Mr W. J. Martin. A- motion of condolence was passed with relatives, all members standing as a mark of respect to the memory of deceased. The report disclosed that a very successful year had been experienced. A credit of over £8 on the season’s working was reported. The officers elected for the ensuing made feeling reference to the late Mrs J.' Martin; president, Mr Alex. Morrison: vice-president, Mr L. G. Sievers; treasurer, Mi - W. B. Martin; secretary, Mr O. Grant; auditor, Mr K. Arthur; general committee, last year’s committee was re-elected with the addition of I Mr I. Jacobsen; delegates to the Horse Sports Association, Messrs Morrison and Sievers. It was decided to co-operate with the Centennial Committee and hold the sports meeting on March .30, 1940.
