GERMAN LIES

FALSE REPORT OF UNREST IN SAMOA. ALL QUIET IN MANDATED TERRITORY. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. November 30. It is authoritatively stated that a German broadcast report unrest in Samoa is “untrue and may have arisen from the fact that 15 pro-Nazi German nationals have been transferred to New Zealand for internment. “There have been no efforts at suppression. because none arc necessary. The recent elections to the native legislative body passed off successfully, and offers from local and overseas service both from Europeans and from Samoans have been numerous. Samoa is administered by New Zealand under League of Nations mandate, and these offers have not been accepted."
