WOMEN’S AUXILIARY. .' The monthly meeting of the Master- . ton Methodist Women’s Missionary - Auxiliary was held on Thursday, Miss Jackson presiding. The opening hymn and prayer was followed by a reading from Acts 17-16-27. Apologies for absence were received I from four members. Arrangements wee made to send a sack of clothing and Christmas gifts for the North Auckland Maori Mission, and also to forward to all the Maori Deaconesses greetings from the Masterton Auxiliary. The report of the annual conference of the New Zealand Methodist Women’s Auxiliary held in Christchurch in October was read by Mrs Jansen. This being the silver jubilee .year, a resume of its history since its inception 25 years ago was given by Mrs Bowron, ,n foundation, member. From small beginnings the conference now. numbered 94 delegates representing 30 Auxiliaries. Many others were unable to send delegates. They supported the sisters at work on both Home and Foreign Mission Fields, raising £955 and £l3OO respectively for this work. The sum of £l7O was sent to the medical”fund, £lll being raised from the sale of used stamps. Numerous sacks of clothing and goods are sent to Maori sisters for distribution, and 79 boxes of goods and Christmas gifts have been shipped to the Solomon Island Mission. The annual report of the Kurahuna school for Maori girls was read and < discussed. The question of giving this object support was referred to the next meeting. Mrs Speight brought the meeting to . a close by pronouncing the Benedic- < lion. : The Auxiliary will reassemble in 1 February next.
