SENTENCED IN ABSENCE
FRENCH COMMUNIST DEPUTY. FAILURE TO ANSWER CALL TO COLOURS. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received This Day. 12.55 p.m.) PARIS, November 28. A court-martial sitting at Amiens sentenced to six years’ imprisonment the Communist Deputy, Maurice Thorez, for failing to answer the call to the Colours when mobilisation was decreed. The court-martial also ordered confiscation of the property ol Thorez, who vanished following the suppression of the Communist Party.
