The starling which has already done good work in destroying the grass grub is now adding to its good deeds by destroying the white butterfly, says the Patea Press. An enthusiastic amateur gardener was delighted when he saw a number of these birds overhauling his cabbages, peering into every leaf. When the birds had left not a caterpillar was to be found.
