YOUTHS REMANDED
. CAR CONVERSION AND OTHER CHARGES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, November 28. A formidable list of charges, involving conversion of cars and thefts in several centres, was faced in the Magistrates’ Court, Hastings, today, bj* the three youths arrested last week in Maraekakaho, where they were found hiding in a drain. Pending the preparation by the child welfare officer of a report on the home life of the youths, all three were remanded by Mr Miller, S.M., to appear in Auckland on Friday. Two of the youths were charged with converting a motor-car in Auckland, and breaking, entering and theft in Opotiki; one was separately charged with unlawful conversion of a cycle in Auckland, and all three were jointly charged with the theft of petrol in Opotiki, conversion of a car in Opotiki, escaping from custody in Opotiki,conversion of a car at Tolaga Bay, and the theft of petrol at Tolaga Bay.
