WEDDING

McNABB—WINTER. A very pretty wedding took place at the Knox Church, Masterton, recently, when Helmieh, younger daughter of Mrs W. H. Winter and the late Sergt.Major Winter, of Masterton, was married to Vincent, youngest son of Mr K. A. and the late Mrs McNabb, of Mt Albert, Auckland, the Rev J. Davie performing the ceremony. The church was beautifully decorated with pink flowers and greenery by friends of the bride. The bride, who was escorted by her brother Mr H. J. Winter, looked charming in a gown of pale pink satin marquisette, the bodice of which was gathered from the shoulders to the waist, forming a V neckline and finished with a sprig of orange blossom. The back was trimmed with tiny pink bows, and the skirt was very full to form a train. Her pink tulle veil kindly lent by a friend, was finished with a coronet of orange blossom. The bride carried a shower bouquet of pink carnations, rosebuds and maidenhair fern. Attending the bride as matron of honour was her sister, Mrs J. Nichols, while Misses Hetty and Lois Winter, twin nieces of the bride, were bridesmaids. The matron of honour’s frock was of pale blue crushed organdie with shirred bodice, full flared skirt and puff sleeves. The bridesmaids were dressed alike, in pale blue crushed organdie, with high collars and tiny blue velvet bows to the waist and puff sleeves. The bouquets they carried were of pink sweetpeas and roses. Mr Allan Daysh, of Masterton, capably carried out the duties of best man. The bride as she left the church was presented by her niece Marianne Winter. with a silver horseshoe. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Epiphany Hall. The bride's mother wore a frock of midnight blue silk crepe with matching coatee and navy accessories. She wore a shoulder spray of pink carnations. Miss Howell, who assisted Mrs Winter to receive the guests, was attired in an ensemble of navy blue and wore a navy hat and a shoulder spray of pink rosebuds. When the bride left on her honeymoon she wore ; blue coat and skirt with navy accessories.
