GLADSTONE
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MONTHLY MEETING OF MEMBERS. (“Times-Age” Special.) Mrs McKay presided over a fair attendance of members at the monthly meeting of the Gladstone Women’s Institute. Owing to shearing and sickness in the district several apologies for absence were received. It was decided to hold next month’s meeting on December 14. The competitions for that meeting will be "Best Christmas novelty not costing more than 2s 6d” and the "Best bloom/' Before afternoon tea, which was served by Miss D. Ken - and her helpers, Mrs Wellwood gave a very interesting talk on "Travels in the West Indies and the Amazon.”
The results of the competitions were as follow: Best three mince meat pies. Mrs Palmer 1. Miss J. Palmer 2. Bloom. Miss D. Kerr 1. Mrs Joblin 2.
