HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY COMMITTEE MEETING. At the usual meeting of the Featherston Horticultural Society there were present Mesdames Hunter, Arch Clark, Lawson, Ritchie. J. W. Holland, Tutbury McKenzie. Carter, Rea (secretary)/Messrs A. C. Pearce, Arch Clark, C. Carter, C. Rea, Rev R. S. Keenan. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Davis, Lowell, Charles, Wakely, G. Yule, Hayes, Misses Eva Card, Zena Tutbury, Messrs G. Yule, Hayes and Herbert Clark. Several new members were elected. A letter was received from the Centennial Flower . Society inviting the Featherston Society to exhibit at the Centennial Flower Show to be held on January 30 and 31. The following were appointed a committee to deal with the matter: —Mesdames Arch Clark. Carlyon, McKenzie, Miss Tutbury. Mr Carter, and the secretary and chairman, ex officio. The following were appointed to consider alterations suggested to the society’s rules and schedule: —Mesdames Arch Clark, Lawson, McKenzie. Ritchie, Davis. Hunter, Mr Arch Clark, secretary and chairman ex officio. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to Sir Harry Batterbee for coming to Featherston to open the recent flower show. Euchre Party and Dance. There was a good attendance at the euchre party and dance at Pahautea Hall on Saturday night. The card winners were, ladies: Mrs Rewai 1. Mrs Knapp 2. Men: Mr Cade 1, Mr A. Feast 2. The Monte Carlo was won by Miss B. Warrington and Miss P. Nicalison.
