GREYTOWN

BRIGADE MEETING NO TEAM FOR DEMONSTRATION. ("Times-Age” Special.) The Greytown Volunteer Fire Brigade last night decided not to send a team to the New'Zealand Demonstration. Most of the members are engaged in the fruit industry, and the demonstration comes at the busy time. The brigade, however, will send a delegate to the conference. The electrical fire alarm will in future be used instead of the bell. The siren will be tested at noon each day. Labour Party Branch. The Greytown Branch of the Labour Party is organising a dance to raise funds for Christmas cheer for the Inmates of Buchanan Home. Books for School Pupils. The chairman of the Greytown Shcool Committee acknowledges with thanks a parcel of books of poetic proverbs from Mr A. H. Vile. These have been distributed to the senior pupils. Personal Items. There was a large attendance at the funeral of the late Mr Ruben Bridgewater, which took place at the Greytown Cemetery yesterday. The Rev Bloomfield officiated at the graveside. The pall bearers were Messrs R. H. and L. Bridgewater. L. Ernshaw, H. Morris, L. Morris. Mr Charles Stunnell, who has been seriously ill in the Greytown Hospital is now improving. Mr and Mrs W. J.
