BOY SCOUTS

DISTRICT COMMITTEE. A meeting of the Wairarapa District Committee was held in St Matthew’s Scout Den Masterton. the following Groups being represented: —St Matthew’s, by Messrs Taylor, Askew and Braggins; Mo Katoa (Masterton), Messrs Kerslake and Ryan; Carterton, Mr C. E. White and Acting S.M. Ray; Greytown. Messrs Farley, Langford and Group S.M. Huntley; Featherston, District S.M. J. Halpin. District Cubmaster G. McTaggart, S.M. Harkness, District Treasurer J. Robinson, S.M. Ron Isles, A.S.M. Jaine, Misses Braggins and Askew. Mr N. C. C. Shepherd, District Commissioner, presided. Apologies for absence were received from Messrs A. Campbell Pearce (chairman), Gaze, Morris Butler. A. T. Cook and Miss Thomas. The District Cubmaster reported that the Wairarapa Cub Rally would beheld at the Cartel-ton showgrounds on Saturday. December 2. The programme had been issued to all Cubmasters and the Carterton Committee had finalised arrangements for catering, etc. In reference to the suggested combined Scout camp and rally, the District Scoutmaster reported that the officers thought it not advisable to combine the two and recommended that arally be held towards the end of February. This was agreed to.
