EKETAHUNA

LAWN TENNIS CLUB MATCH AGAINST KAIPARORO. (“Times-Age” Special.) A club competition was played at Eketahuna on Saturday afternoon. Some very interesting games were played and the ultimate winners proved to be Mr F. C. Mcßride mid Miss P. O’Regan. A match was played at Kaiparoro over the weekend, the Eketahuna team being in the lead by 12 sets to four when play had to be abandoned owing to heavy rain. This was unfortunate as some good matches had still to be played which quite possibly might have changed the position of the teams. Afternoon tea was provided by the ladies of the Kaiparoro Chib. after which the captain of the Eketahun.-. team thanked them for their hospitality, and expressed the hope that there would be a return match played on thr Eketahuna courts in the near future. Mr Hansen replied on behalf of Kaiparoro, and said that, they would be only too pleased to play a return match at any future date. MUNICIPAL LIBRARY NEW BOOKS ADDED. The following new books have been added to the shelves of the Municipal Library:—Hatter's Castle (A. J. Cronin), Glittering Heights (A. Duffield); Checkered Paths (M. Pedler); Silver Morning (K. Rhodes); What Happened to the Corbetts <N. Shute): Dr Bradley Remembers (F. B. Young).
